What to expect

Book for a Consultation

During Consultation

  • Draw eyebrows for you. If you have a preference for a particular shape, please bring pictures with you.
  • Discuss ideal shape. Sally’s suggestions will take into consideration shape of your face, shape of your brow ridges and your age.
  • Discuss methods best suits you. Methods are microblading, ombré or combination.
  • Discuss best colour to match your eyebrow hair and your skin tone.
  • Any questions, you can ask during consultation.
  • At iBrow Studio, we use organic pigment. Therefore, no patch test is needed.
  • Consultations are free of charge and you are under no obligation.
  • If you decide to go ahead, you can book for a microblading treatment with Sally.
  • £50 deposit is required to secure your booking, it is fully redeemable against treatment price.

Do’s and Don’ts before Microblading Treatment

Do’s:

  • Do wash your hair. This is due to the fact that you will not be able to have any water contact on your eyebrows for 3 days after the treatment.
  • Have a facial scrub. Getting rid of dead skin could help to give a better result. 
  • You could bring your earphones. Listening to music or an audiobook during the treatment could help you to relax and distract yourself. 
  • If you have a preference for a particular shape, please bring pictures with you.

Don’ts:

  • Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil or vitamin E.
  • Do not wear contact lenses.

Microblading Aftercare

The best results are achieved through successful aftercare

  • Avoid any water contact on the treated area for 3 days.
  • Use healing cream to assist healing. Apply small amount with a cotton bud (dab not wipe), 4 times a day for 5 days.
  • If you notice any clear fluid before you apply healing cream (it should only happen within 2 days after the treatment), Dab it off with a damp cotton pad, do not wipe.  
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch.
  • Avoid sun exposure for a week.
  • Avoid exercise for 5 days.
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
  • Avoid cosmetic products on treated area.
  • Pin back your hair. if you have a fringe, ensure it pinned back.
  • Limit hot showers and bath.
  • Avoid swimming for 2 weeks.
  • Avoid sauna, steam room or spa for two weeks.
  • Sally’s personal recommendation: Wearing an eye mask to cover your eyebrows at night, in case you accidentally scratched your eyebrows in your sleep. 

  

Healing Period – A Week

  • Your eyebrows will look darker within the first week post treatment.  Don’t panic! It is absolutely normal at this time. 
  • It is common during healing period for one eyebrow to appear thicker than the other. Do not panic!
  • Be patient and wait for your skin to heal. If they are still uneven, they can be easily rebalanced on your touch up session.
  • Skin takes 4 weeks to heal. Before your skin has healed, we can not do anything.

Q: What is your clinical hygiene practice?

At iBrow Studio, we strictly follow the hygiene standards as set out by the Health Protection Unit & Department of Health UK.

We strictly follow all government guidelines on the use of sterile single-use needles and gloves which are correctly disposed after each treatment.

Q. What is the ideal shape of eyebrow for me?

Shape of eyebrow is customised for each client, you are able to create exactly how you wanted. I will offer my recommendations and we will work together, making sure you are happy. My suggestions take into consideration shape of your face, shape of your brow ridges and your age. Getting the right shape is the most critical part of microblading treatment, it is very detailed. I take a lot of time at this stage to ensure the style is ideal for each client. I also take time making sure that clients understand how colour related to skin tone.

At iBrow Studio, we use the best numbing cream to ensure a pain-free experience. 

Q: How long does it take?

It takes roughly an hour and half to 2 hours for each session.

 

Q: How long does it last?

It lasts 12 to 18 months. It depends on various factors such as metabolism, life style and skin type. Swimming, exercise, sunbathing and sunbeds can also reduce its life span.

Q: How many treatments are needed?

Microblading takes two sessions, with 4 to 6 weeks between each session. 

However, if you choose to have combinations, then it would take three sessions with 4 to 6 weeks between each session.

 

Q: Is having a touch up session necessary? Why do I need touch up session? What happens during a touch up session? How long does it take?

Yes, a touch up session is necessary. Without a touch up session, the effects won’t last 12 to 18 months.    

The reason for a touch up session is that some areas of skin may not absorb pigment very well. During the touch up session reapplication is applied where needed.

Touch up sessions are about an hour and half.

Q: What does the healing process entail?

Your eyebrows will look darker within the first week of the treatment.

Q: Will my skin look red or sore after microblading treatment?

No, we use organic pigment and your skin won’t get red or swollen after the treatment unless you are allergic to numbing cream. However, the redness will calm down very soon and is nothing to worry about. 

All our pictures on our Instagram, Facebook and website are immediately after pictures. We do not filter pictures.

Q: What pigment do you use?

At iBrow Studio, we use the highest quality of organic pigment, which has proved to be 100% safe and are guaranteed to never change colour throughout their lifetime. We do not use tattoo ink.

Q: Does microblading damage my eyebrow hair follicles?

No. Microblading does not damage your eyebrow hair follicles; it does not affect your normal eyebrow hair growth.

Q: Will my treatment be noticeable by others?

We choose pigment which matches your existing eyebrow hair colour and therefore is not noticeable. Our clients have told us that friends have given them compliments, such as they look well or they look younger but cannot figure out what has changed.

 

Q: Shall I have Botox before or after microblading?

If you are looking to have Botox, you should definitely get it done at least 2 weeks before microblading treatment.

Q: Could I have microblading done if I am pregnant?

No, you can not do microblading if you are pregnant.

Q: Could I have microblading done if I am breast feeding?

You can not breast feed within 8 hours after the treatment.

We offer WhatsApp video consultation for clients who live a long distance. However, if you had microblading done before and you know what to expect, you can just book for a microblading treatment.

Semi-permanent Eyeliner Aftercare

The best results are achieved through successful aftercare

  • Ease swelling with ice pack.
  • Use healing cream to assist healing. Apply small amount with a cotton bud (dab not wipe), 4 times a day for 5days.
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch.
  • Avoid touching or rubbing your eyes for a week.
  • Avoid sun exposure for a week.
  • Avoid exercise for 5 days.
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
  • Avoid cosmetic products on treated area for a week.
  • No mascara for a week.
  • Limit hot showers and bath.
  • Avoid swimming for 2 weeks.
  • Avoid sauna, steam room or spa for two weeks.
  • Avoid spicy food, seafood, and eggs for a week.
  • Pin back your hair. if you have a fringe, ensure it pinned back.
  • Use eyedrops if necessary for the first few days.
  • Avoid eyelash tinting, curling, perming or lash extensions for 2 weeks.

You might feel rubbing in your eyes, applying eyedrops if necessary. There is no down time, you can even drive home. On the second day in the morning, your eyes look like you have cried the night before, ease the swelling with ice pack.

Q: Could I have semi-permanent eyeliner done if I am pregnant?

No, you can not if you are pregnant.

Q: Could I have semi-permanent eyeliner done if I am breast feeding?

  • Use Aquaphor to assist healing. Apply with cotton bud (dab not wipe), every 2 hours for as long as needed.
  • If you notice any clear fluid before you apply the cream (it should only happen within 2 days after the treatment), Dab it off with a damp cotton pad, do not wipe.  
  • Take showers and wash your face as normal, with a coat of Aquaphor on.
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch.
  • Avoid sun exposure for a week.
  • Avoid exercise for 5 days.
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
  • Avoid cosmetic products on treated area for at least 10 days.
  • Limit hot showers and bath.
  • Avoid swimming for 2 weeks.
  • Avoid sauna, steam room or spa for two weeks.
  • Avoid spicy food, seafood, and eggs for a week.
  • Avoid hot drinks and coffee for a week.
  • Take Aciclovir tablets if you are prone to coldsores.
  • When stop using Aquaphor, apply Vaseline 5 times a day to keep your lips moisturised. 
  • Avoid smoking for at least 5 days. Smoking makes the pigment gone dark.
  • Do not eat within 4 hours after the treatment.
  • Clean your lips properly with damp cotton pad after eating.

Do’s:

  • Apply Vaseline 4 times a day as least from a week before the treatment, make sure your lips are not dry. Use Aquaphor lip repair if necessary.
  • Do a lip scrub the day before the treatment to get rid of dead skin.
  • Bring pictures or lipsticks in order to show the colour that you desired.
  • Do have something to eat before the treatment, you can not eat within 4 hours after the treatment.
  • Buy Aquaphor lip repair.

Clients may require touch ups every 4-6 years. However if you sunbathing, sunbeds, exercise and swimming often, or if have high metabolism and oily scalp, you might need touch ups every 3 years. Touch ups usually takes 1-2 hours.

Q: How many treatments are needed?

All SMP treatments are performed over 3 sessions.

Q: What pigment do you use?

At iBrow Studio, we use the highest quality of organic charcoal based pigment, which has proved to be 100% safe and are guaranteed to never change colour throughout their lifetime. We do not use tattoo ink.

Q: Does SMP damage my hair follicles?

No. SMP treatment does not damage your hair follicles, it does not affect to your normal hair growth. Clients who use SMP to create hair density after had hair transplants, it does not damage your existing hair transplant.

Q. Do I need to shave my hair?

No, you don”t need to shave your hair.

Q: Will my scalp look red or sore after SMP treatment?  Will my treatment be noticeable by others?

Yes, your scalp will look a little bit red after SMP treatment, you can wear hat, the redness will calm down 2 to 3 days.

  • Use Vaseline to assist healing. Apply small amount with a cotton bud, 4 times a day for 5 days.

  • Avoid exercise for 5 days.
  • Avoid swimming for 2 week.
  • Avoid sauna, steam room or spa for two weeks.

No. Microblading does not damage your eyebrow hair follicles; it does not affect your normal eyebrow hair growth.

Q: Will my treatment be noticeable by others?

We choose pigment which matches your existing eyebrow hair colour and therefore is not noticeable. Our clients have told us that friends have given them compliments, such as they look well or they look younger but cannot figure out what has changed.

 

Q: Shall I have Botox before or after microblading?

If you are looking to have Botox, you should definitely get it done at least 2 weeks before microblading treatment.

The best results are achieved through successful aftercare

  • Ease swelling with ice pack.
  • Use healing cream to assist healing. Apply small amount with a cotton bud (dab not wipe), 4 times a day for 5days.
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch.
  • Avoid touching or rubbing your eyes for a week.
  • Avoid sun exposure for a week.
  • Avoid exercise for 5 days.
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
  • Avoid cosmetic products on treated area for a week.
  • No mascara for a week.
  • Limit hot showers and bath.
  • Avoid swimming for 2 weeks.
  • Avoid sauna, steam room or spa for two weeks.
  • Avoid spicy food, seafood, and eggs for a week.
  • Pin back your hair. if you have a fringe, ensure it pinned back.

Lip Blushing Aftercare

The best results are achieved through successful aftercare

  • Avoid touching treated area for 7 days.
  • Ease swelling with ice pack.
  • Use Aquaphor to assist healing. Apply with cotton bud (dab not wipe), every 2 hours for as long as needed.
  • If you notice any clear fluid before you apply the cream (it should only happen within 2 days after the treatment), Dab it off with a damp cotton pad, do not wipe.  
  • Take showers and wash your face as normal, with a coat of Aquaphor on.
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch.
  • Avoid sun exposure for a week.
  • Avoid exercise for 5 days.
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
  • Avoid cosmetic products on treated area for at least 10 days.
  • Limit hot showers and bath.
  • Avoid swimming for 2 weeks.
  • Avoid sauna, steam room or spa for two weeks.
  • Avoid spicy food, seafood, and eggs for a week.
  • Avoid hot drinks and coffee for a week.
  • Take Aciclovir tablets if you are prone to coldsores.
  • When stop using Aquaphor, apply Vaseline 5 times a day to keep your lips moisturised. 
  • Avoid smoking for at least 5 days. Smoking makes the pigment gone dark.
  • Do not eat within 4 hours after the treatment.
  • Clean your lips properly with damp cotton pad after eating.

Do’s:

  • Apply Vaseline 4 times a day as least from a week before the treatment, make sure your lips are not dry. Use Aquaphor lip repair if necessary.
  • Do a lip scrub the day before the treatment to get rid of dead skin.
  • Bring pictures or lipsticks in order to show the colour that you desired.
  • Do have something to eat before the treatment, you can not eat within 4 hours after the treatment.

Clients may require touch ups every 4-6 years. However if you sunbathing, sunbeds, exercise and swimming often, or if have high metabolism and oily scalp, you might need touch ups every 3 years. Touch ups usually takes 1-2 hours.

  • After 3 day, you can rinse your scalp with water, but do not shampoo for a week.
  • Use Vaseline to assist healing. Apply small amount with a cotton bud, 4 times a day for 5 days.
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch.
  • Do not shave your scalp for a week.
  • Avoid exercise for 5 days.
  • Avoid swimming for 2 week.
  • Avoid sauna, steam room or spa for two weeks.
  • Avoid sun exposure for a week.
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase.

  • You can return to work immediately after each session of SMP.

  • £50 deposit is required to secure your booking, it is fully redeemable against the treatment price. 
  • 48hours notice is required to change your appointments.
